Teddy Bear Park - The kids and I took a trip to the Teddy Bear Park in Stillwater with my parents and Bridget, Piper, and Parker. It was a beautiful day and Jace loved exploring the park, sand, and teddy bears.
Piper and Otto's Birthdays - We had a fun-filled Saturday of celebrating Piper turning 6 and Otto turning 1. Piper's party was at the Stewartville Pool, one of Jace's favorite places! Then, we gaterhed for outdoor lunch at Otto's house for his celebration. It was also fun to meet my other cousin's baby who will be one this fall. Lots of little boys in the Beckmann extended family!
Como Zoo - We learned that Como Zoo in St Paul was open for reservations so we made an afternoon of it! They had a great process for safety and we got to see lots of animals. Jace seemed specially impressed with zebras 😊 Bonus, we had a beautiful day to explore. Can you tell with have a climber based on these pics???
Mekhi & Annalise - We had cousins, Mekhi and Annalise, at our house for a long weekend. Jace loves having extra people to play with and put his cousins to work reading his favorite books.
Piper & Parker - We also had the chance to have cousins, Piper and Parker, with us two Fridays in August. Jace especially loves that these cousins are closer to his size. The three of them loved playing in the "toy closet" (an under the stairs closet with low ceiling).
Alaina and Jace's Birthdays - We got to have yet another birthday party at the Stewartville Pool to celebrate Alaina turning 8. I was impressed with Jace wanting to lie on his back in the shallow water. He was not a fan of that during our parent/child swim class earlier this summer. The same day as Alaina's party, we celebrated Jace with Pickers and Riggins. We gathered outside, grilled dinner, and had DQ ice cream cake! Jace loves ice cream and ate a lot of his large piece of cake. The theme in his gifts was heavy machinery and he loved it 😊
Starting Daycare - After 6 months at home during the pandemic, Jace is starting daycare 😯 He spent his mornings with Luke and Nora on the days I worked from home and I was off work by the time he woke up from his nap. Luke and Nora handled the responsibility very well and we were so blessed by their helpfulness in this strange time. But, it was high time for Jace to start spending some time with other kids his age and to get out of the house! We were incredibly blessed to be able to secure a spot for Jace at Jon Linden's in home daycare. Lindens were Luke's daycare from 2007-2012 and their family has a special place in our hearts 💗 We visited Jon's Tuesday for a sneak peek and Jace got right into playing with the toys, exploring, and petting their dog. His first day went well! Jon said he seemed to realize we were gone about an hour in, but he ate and slept well...PLUS, he was happy to go back again the next day!
Jace's Birthday with Beckmanns - My family was busy the weekend of Jace's birthday so we celebrated Labor Day weekend. I made fruit pizza for our fruit-loving birthday boy and we spent the evening outside enjoying the warm weather.
Two Year Update
Jace continues to love all things truck, ball, book, and animal related. He's talking more and more every day, stringing more words together. His newest statement has been "Dad, stop" or "Dad, hold on" when he's trying to direct Brent is what and what not to do. (We think daycare will give him a good reality check that he's not the ruler of the world 😉) Jace's favorite book the past month has definitely been The Little Excavator. He's also officially gotten all of his two year molars though they will continue to erupt more.
I've also gotten a little sentimental thinking of baby Jace growing into toddler Jace. I know he won't be this pudgy little self for long 😢
He still loves his "lamb-y"...
Some other fun pictures from the past month:
What a blessing he has been!Love you every minute. Gma Ruth
