Before I dive into our High Five, here are a few cuties of the kids from this week:)

Nora and her favorite bear in matching outfits:) |

Never a dull moment with this lady!
I especially love her expression in the middle pic:)
She was shaking the swing so I'd push her instead of taking her pic |

So happy together:) |

Last week of football for the boys! I don't dislike football, what I do dislike is having so much going on during the weeknights and feeling like we are all going different directions. We're all homebodies so it gets a little wearing when we're constantly on the go. Thankfully both Brent and Luke's seasons were only a month and a half long and we're now on the other side of practices and games on weeknights!

After my
post last week about Nora's cold/teething, she has now officially developed an ear infection (
very common for her when she has a cold or is teething). Nora having an ear infection is not one of my high fives for the week, but the fact that she's been referred to ENT for a consult is. Luke had his fair share of ear infections, but we never got to the point of needing to see ENT. Nora, however, is on her 5th or 6th ear infection (I've lost track) in nine months. This is especially concerning coming into the winter cold season when kids are more prone to ear infections. So, it's off to ENT we go next month. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of all of her ear infections.

Luke did a Facebook project in school. You read that correctly...a Facebook project:) But, it was not on the computer, it was on paper:) I especially loved his responses to the questions about himself.

I am so very honored to be included in his heroes...I was not at all surprised for him to include Brent as a hero (he adores him), but I was surprised and touched that he included both of us.

Brent started in a new role at Think Mutual Bank this Monday. It was a hard decision for him to leave his former role (Loan Processing Manager) as he managed a great team, worked along side great managers, and had a great boss, but he's hoping to expand his experience with his new role of Branch Manager. If you're ever in the West Circle Branch, be sure to say hi:)

I got a night to myself! I know that sounds simple, but it means so much to me when I am able to get out and about without children in tow. (Don't get me wrong, my kids are wonderful and they're troopers when it comes to running errands:)) I started the night off with a massage (a little birthday treat to myself), then I got ingredients to make chex mix, stopped at Famous Footwear to check out their clearance, then perused the lady's clothes at Target (I had a little birthday gift money burning a hole in my pocket:)). It was simply lovely:) I am now typing this post while eating my homemade chex mix and thrilled to show you my biggest score of the night!

$10 baby! |
I've thought for a while that I'd like some nude heels, but it was never a high on my list of things to buy. I couldn't pass these up for $10 ($15 on clearance + a $5 birthday coupon)! (Note: Sign up for loyalty programs at stores, even if you don't shop their often, you usually at least get a coupon for your birthday:))
Glad you got some Jen time alone. Know that's important for you introverts and for everyone really. Looking forward to together time next week, though, too. Praying for good results on Nora's little ears. Wishing you some good family time now that the season is over. Love, Ruth
ReplyDeleteI love those three pictures of Nora, she is so stinkin' cute! You and Brent are wonderful parent, Luke can attest to that... you are his hero's. Nothing better than that :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so beautiful! I love that picture of you and Nora. This has got to be one of my favorite High Fives yet. Luke and Nora are unbelievably cute. Nora's faces... Luke's personality... great kids. And a congratulations to Brent! I'll be praying for a smooth transition for him. Your night out sounds simply wonderful. It was a true Treat Yo Self night, except without a Tom or Donna. I could have been your (trying to choose which one I'd rather be at this moment)... Donna. Those shoes are smokin. I think I about covered it all.
