The Winds They Are A Changin

Well, it's really happening...we're moving!  (read: excitement mixed with butterflies in my stomach)

The month of August was a month of considerations.  We looked around at houses, lots, and neighborhoods, talked to builders, and talked A LOT about the pros and cons of all of the choices before us.  By labor day weekend, we were sure we were listing our house and taking the leap to change housing for our family.

On September 8, we listed our house online ourselves (really, this was Brent's jurisdiction).  We showed the house three times and by September 15, we learned we had an offer coming.  Life since then has been a flurry of roof inspections, roof replacement, insurance claims, full house inspections, etc, etc.

One month from today, we will close on the sale of our house and will be homeless...more accurately we'll become tenants of Ruth and Kerry Picker:)

Simultaneous to the listing of our house, we've been working with a Radcliffe Homes to finalize a house plan to build on a lot in Stewartville, MN (just outside Rochester, for those not familiar with the area).  Dates and details are not finalized, but we're told the process of building will take four months start to finish.

Three!

We have a three year old (as of July 11)!  And, I am horribly behind on this post!

We had Nora's three year well child appointment in July and learned she is growing and developing well (not that we had any concerns).  She was a model patient for our new Nurse Practitioner (our former retired), and there were no shots needed, which I'm sure helped;)  The other thing that helps is watching Doc McStuffins.  We prepped her with things she's seen on the show and she was excited to see how she'd grown and to talk with the NP.

As always, I love to look back and see how our kids have grown. Check out Nora's one year post and two year post if you're curious too.

Fourth Grade

We had a wonderful summer, but school and fall schedules are always around the corner.  Though I did feel like we scored an extra week of summer this year , since Labor Day was the latest it can possibly be and Luke didn't start school till September 8.

Luke headed off to his first day of fourth grade at Gibbs Elementary School this week.  He got the teacher he had heard was "nice", Ms Bottema, so he was extra excited after meet the teacher day last week.

We took pics inside this year since it had rained early morning, and we missed our regular pics with Dad because Luke didn't want to wake up before he left:)  Honestly, neither did I;)

Both getting so big
and so much more hair!
You can't see his braces (lower front teeth),
but those will be coming off next week!
