Jace ~ 19 Months

I never, in a million years, would have thought that I'd be blogging during a state-wide stay-at-home order!

Nevertheless, time marches on and our boy has reached 19 months!  We've gotten a lot of time together since March 13 when we began spring break in Stewartville, which then morphed into working from home and e-learning for the big kids.

I'd boil Jace's biggest accomplishments this past month to two things: identifying a name for Nora and getting his final canine tooth.  He finally started calling Nora "na-na" and we all celebrated like he won the Super Bowl:)   We're also grateful he pushed this final tooth through.  He's now got 16 teeth, which is FAR more than his big siblings had at this age.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the ECFE class Jace and I started last month had to be cancelled for the rest of the year.  I'm bummed to miss out on this special time together, but we'll try to sign up again next school year.

Jace has continued with his picky eating this past month.  He loves fruit, dairy, and anything that is delivered in a squeeze pouch (think GoGo squeeZ).  Thankfully the squeeze pouches come with veggies included.  Protein comes in the form of peanut butter right now.  I'm really hoping this is just a phase.  I remember our family med doctor saying that toddler boys are especially bad with food preferences at this age.  We continue to offer foods (foods he has previously loved...and new ones) and hope for the best!

Jace currently really enjoys being outside any chance he can, listening to a lullaby before bed, repeating animal sounds and names (those he's learned), and counting aloud when he's playing (this typically only includes "two free" aka two three:))  He has gotten more acquainted with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney+ (#quarantinesurvival) and calls Mickey "Mick" and Goofy "Goosey".
