We Love Wednesdays

Como Zoo/Town

Friday, Nora and I made an impromptu trip to Como Zoo and Como Town on my day off.  Brent was working and Luke had plans to go to Conquer Ninja Warrior Gym with cousins, and the rain held off as we hoped!  We had a lovely cool and quiet day at Como together.  We even got to see a baby giraffe, baby orangutan, and two baby tamarins.  A few of my favorite pics from our day together:

Lifelong Friends

Saturday, three "high school" friends came over with their kiddos, but really, I've known two of them since elementary school.  It was so great to see them all, to catch up, share parenting stories, and just be together.  The kids got along great too!  So great to have them all in my life and near enough to see each other occasionally.

Middle School
Luke started sixth grade at Stewartville Middle School and it's been going great!  We were a little concerned with the transition to another new school, a different schedule, locker combinations, etc, etc, but it's going great!  I cannot express how incredibly happy I am to hear Luke say this is his favorite school so far (Gibbs, Bear Cave, and Stew Middle School).  The middle school and high school share a building, but are on separate wings.  So, this is the last school Luke will be in until he graduates....yikes!

Gibbs Friends
Luke has some sweet friends from his first elementary school in Rochester that still get together a few times a year.  This week, they met at Archery Addiction, a new place in Rochester set up with nerf-type archery equipment.  I think of it as a mix between paintball and American Gladiator (you remember the show from the 90s:))  The boys had a great time and it was nice to see the boys and their parents we've known since kindergarten/first grade at Gibbs.

Preschool Meet the Teacher
We got to meet Nora's teacher tonight.  She's at the same preschool this year, but has a different teacher and different schedule.  Last year she went to the 3-4 year old class two mornings a week and this year she will go to the 4-5 year old class three mornings a week.  She seemed comfortable in the classroom and finding her locker.  We hope it will be another great year of Early Childhood School Readiness in Stewartville for Nora!
Nora's proud to be sporting her
new favorite Stewie pride t-shirt:)
